1  Archive / Migration / Existence of directories - unpublished??? on: 28-11-2013 13:13:02
On pressing 'Check' when all boxes are complete the results show that the directories of the source images are 'unpublished' whatever that is supposed to mean, so the migration cannot proceed.

/var/www/vhosts/sitename.co.uk/httpdocs/components/com_joomgallery/img_originals/
/var/www/vhosts/sitename.co.uk/httpdocs/components/com_joomgallery/img_pictures/
/var/www/vhosts/sitename.co.uk/httpdocs/components/com_joomgallery/img_thumbnails/

I understand that because I had to use a hyphen (-) in the Path to Joomla 1.5 during the previous step, these directories have to be the complete absolute path. I found this by installing a findpath.php script into the root directory and reviewing the results as shown above (with 'sitename' substituted for the actual name for this post)

So, how do I progress beyond this step please?

Solved this problem by putting a hyphen - where it requires the 'Path to Joomla! 1.5' instead of the actual path.

This has given a further problem which I will post separately on just in case anyone is still monitoring this forum?
3  Archive / Migration / The required extension does not seem to be installed. on: 26-11-2013 14:26:27
Having installed the migration script and following the procedure to migrate from my old Joomla 1.5 site with Joomgalley 1.5.7.5 to my new 2.5 site with Joomgallery 2.1.4 the message "The required extension does not seem to be installed."

The old and new sites are on the same server (the new is a subdomain of the old) and the database tables are in the the same database but with different prefixes.

I used SP Upgrade for the main migration from Joomla 1.5 to 2.5

I have FTP transferred old images to their new relevant folders in 2.5 but nothing shows on the new site, not even categories which I have manually set up now exactly as the old ones were.

How do I get the migration script to actually be there? The control panel in Joomgallery shows it present (Migrate MVC2ACL) and installed but the migration process says otherwise.

at the moment it seems that you have enabled two popup box plugins. Please use only one of them.

That seems to have done the trick - thank you  Smile

Now, with 'additional plugin' selected in category view as well there is a 'loading' symbol which just keeps spinning.

Anything else I can try?

Thank you for your response.

I found that advice and installed/enabled the plugin and selected 'additional plugin' for the detail view but still not working.

Any other ideas please?

Nope, back to square one today  Rolleyes

What a frustrating piece of software this is!

OK, I've looked around other threads and found some advice to disable Mootools Upgrade plugin, which I have done and it seems to have fixed the issues  Grin

The only thing is that I cannot now remember what it would have been necessary to have that plugin for in the first place....

A quick flick around the site and all seems working so fingers crossed.

Reposted this here as maybe in wrong section before  Rolleyes

Joomla 1.5.25 JoomGallery 1.7.4

When looking at Gallery Overview and Category View some of the thumbnails randomly don't display, there is an image symbol instead.

When clicking on a thumbnail no popup seems to work whatever settings I try, the image opens in a replacement window requiring the browser back button to return to the thumbnails.

This has all been working in the past so maybe something changed with an upgrade in JoomGallery or Joomla itself?

Any suggestions please?

Website location of Gallery Overview is : Club Motorhome Photo Galleries

Chraneco,

I would just like to say a very big thank you for your support on this  Grin

You discovered that the menu was not properly setup which caused the detail view problem, and I installed an updated Gallery-Tab plugin which sorted the CB profile issue.

Kind regards,

Neil

Hi,

Thanks for persevering but no, I haven't touched the core files.

Do you think it would help to use a 3rd party SEF extension instead of the Joomla one?

Or will this just cause more problems?

The detail view, but with the picture itself missing, still has a SEF URL as per here - http://www.clubmotorhome.co.uk/component/joomgallery/my-motorhome/uk-in-february-2009-a-clearing-in-a-forest-in-sub-zero-temperatures-13.html

As does the Category Overview here - http://www.clubmotorhome.co.uk/component/joomgallery/my-motorhome.html

The Gallery Listings are as per here - http://www.clubmotorhome.co.uk/members-area/members-photos.html

But when clicking on an image from there it goes wrong as per here - http://www.clubmotorhome.co.uk/index.php?view=category&catid=4&Itemid=88

So, as you say, it has its SEF disabled.

Have you any ideas where to go from here?

edit: The links -  "Top Rated - Last Added - Last Commented - Most Viewed" all get lost as non SEF as well.

Not sure I did... Is that possible?
