1  Archive / Frontend / Re: Use the image description instead of the title as the lightbox caption. on: 29-09-2010 20:20:22
I just noticed a slight issue with this mode.  When the mouse pointer is placed on the image in Detail View, the tooltip displays raw html for the added line break tag "<br />" and paragraph tags "<p></p>" which are apparently automatically placed around the image description.  Thus the tooltip is presented as:

Image name<br /><p>Image description</p>

instead of

Image name
Image description

As a result I got rid of the "<br />" tag and used the PHP "strip_tags()" function to remove the "<p></p>" tags around the description.  Additionally to distinguish between the image title and description, I used an "&raquo;" (>>) separator.  The altered code looks like this:

Code:
$link = $img_url.'" rel="lightbox['.$group.']" title="'.$image->imgtitle . ' &raquo; ' . strip_tags($image->imgtext);

Brilliant dwizer that solution worked fine, so huge thanks  Smile.  In the end I though, I thought that the message would be better positioned just below the image title so I added your code:

Code:
<!-- START modification -->
    <div style="text-align: center;">
        <span>Click to enlarge image</span>
    </div>
<!-- END modification -->

immediately after:

Code:
<div>
    <h3 class="jg_imgtitle" id="jg_photo_title">
      <?php echo JoomHelper::BBDecode($this->image->imgtitle); ?>&nbsp;
    </h3>
  </div>

Thanks for the mod once again :).

Yup, sadly you are correct. The current version of JoomGallery does not feature that directory or file Sad.  However, there is some good news. I tried a small hack in another file which appears to work.

Open "../components/com_joomgallery/helpers/html/joomgallery.php" at line 1038 and change:

Code:
$link = $img_url.'" rel="lightbox['.$group.']" title="'.$image->imgtitle;

to

Code:
$link = $img_url.'" rel="lightbox['.$group.']" title="'.$image->imgtitle .'<br />'.$image->imgtext;

If you want to remove that image title and only disply the description,

Code:
$link = $img_url.'" rel="lightbox['.$group.']" title="'.$image->imgtext;

Please note that although these modifications appear to work fine, I have not tested them extensively so I am not certain what effect they will have on other parts of JoomGallery.
4  Archive / Frontend / How to add a "click to enlarge image" note under the image in detail view? on: 27-09-2010 17:12:40
Hi I would like to add a "Click to enlarge image" message below (or above) the image in detail view.  How can this be achieved?

Thanks

Ok this thread seems to contain the solution to what I seek.  I have not tested though so I cannot be certain whether it works or not http://www.forum.en.joomgallery.net/index.php?topic=2344.0.
6  Archive / Frontend / Insert padding below the "Sort by" input selection box in category view. on: 22-09-2010 13:57:31
Hi, for some reason, my template does not insert a space (padding) below the "Sort by" option menu in Category View. The result is that the selection box sits right on top of the thumbnails. I have attached a photo to show what I mean.  I have searched and have been trying various edits in the JoomGallery ccs files in order to rectify this but have been unsuccessful.  Can someone please let me know which css selector (and the file that it is located) the controls this "Sort by" options menu?

EDIT:

After having a look at the page source in a browser (Firefox) I noticed that "Sort by" selection box was controlled by a css class named "TODO". I thus entered the following code in "../components/com_joomgallery/assets/css/joom_settings.css"

Code:
.TODO form {padding-bottom: 10px;}

This inserted the space as required.  Although this worked, I am not sure whether its the best solution.  If anyone has one better, please post it.

7  Archive / Frontend / Use the image description instead of the title as the lightbox caption. on: 22-09-2010 13:45:46
Hi, is there are way to force JoomGalllery to use the image description instead of the title as the caption in the lightbox pop up?  One work-around is to enter the text of the description as the title but this can be a bit awkward in certain situations where the description is long.

Thanks
8  Archive / Frontend / Slimbox does not work in (td_sotbital, td_otiba) templates on: 25-05-2009 03:00:21
Hi I am using JoomGallery 1.5 on Joomla! 1.5.10 and am experiencing a problem when Detail View > Open original picture in > Slimbox, is selected.  The problem is that when either of these templates, td_sotbital or td_otiba, (from joomlatd.com) is used, the images open in a plain (new) browser window, instead of a pop-up lightbox.  On the other hand, Thickbox appear to work fine.  Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?  It is worthy to note that these templates use a mootools package to render their horizontal menus.  However, even when this was disabled in the the "index.php" file, the problem still persisted.

Here are the reported errors from the Error Console from Firefox 3.0.10

Code:
Warning: Error in parsing value for property 'filter'.  Declaration dropped.
Source File: http://localhost/joomla05/components/com_joomgallery/assets/css/joomgallery.css
Line: 343

Error: $$(links).slimbox is not a function
Source File: http://localhost/joomla05/components/com_joomgallery/assets/js/slimbox/js/slimbox.js
Line: 412

Warning: Use of getBoxObjectFor() is deprecated. Try to use element.getBoundingClientRect() if possible.
Source File: http://localhost/joomla05/photos.html?func=detail&id=1#joomimg

I will be grateful for any help to solve this issue as I really want to use JoomGallery along with these templates.

Cheers
9  Archive / Miscellaneous / Huge Thanks! on: 16-10-2008 23:43:47
I would just like to express my deepest thanks to the developers of this fabulous gallery component.  Its just about the best gallery extension I have used.  It is not only powerful and feature-rich but also very easy to set up and use.  I have just started testing it on MiaCMS (the latest fork of Mambo  Grin) and apart from a few PHP warnings in the Configuration Manager and the Category Manager, it works fine.  The installation was completely error free.

Once again thanks for this super tool and I hope that a native Joomla 1.5 version (and MiaCMS  Smile) will be developed and available here.  I am aware of the other site which has ported it to Joomla 1.5.x but I can't read any German ha ha  Grin.

Regards
