1  JoomGallery 3.x JUX / Backend / Administration / Re: Drag'n'drop upload extremely slow on: 18-03-2019 14:19:36
Hi,

when uploading images to the JoomGallery, essentially the following steps are performed:

1. Upload the image to the web server
2. Create the thumbnail and the detail image
3. Create the database entries

Whether the long wait is caused by uploading the images (step 1), you can check by using the FTP upload for comparison.
Then only steps 2 and 3 have to be executed. Is that faster?
In addition, in JoomGallery Maintenance Manager in the "Database" tab offers the option of optimizing the database tables. Have you done that already?
Which php version do you use?

Hi,

first, we should clarify whether your problem with the migration is even solved.

5  JoomGallery 3.x JUX / Backend / Administration / Re: Joomla 3.8.12 and JoomGallery Image Manager error message on: 14-01-2019 12:50:49
Hi,

...Can someone tell me what to do ?

see:

You just have to delete line 20 (disabled="true") from the administrator/components/com_joomgallery/models/forms/image.xml.
Then everything should work again.  Smile
6  JoomGallery 3.x JUX / Backend / Administration / Re: Category permissions issues. on: 14-01-2019 12:43:38
Hi,

yes, the JoomGallery uses the authorization concept of Joomla!

Before making any changes now, you should find the cause of this problem:
- Had it worked properly in the past?
- What has been changed so that this problem has arisen?
   - Were there any changes in the Joomla user groups (deleted / moved / new groups)?
In a standard installation, the user groups in Joomla only go up to id=9. Are the new groups 10-13 below the group "Registered"?

Is there a backup from a time when the problem did not exist?

Then you can check the following:
- Are there parent categories that have other permissions?

What are the permissions for each JoomGallery category in the asset table?
- For a category where the problem occurs
- For a new categories
7  JoomGallery 3.x JUX / Installation / Update / Re: MotionGallery broken after migrating from Joomla 2.5 to 3X on: 08-01-2019 14:45:36
Troubleshooting on earthlyphotos.com:
On the website there is an outdated 'Template override' of the detail view of the JoomGallery.
This will not load the original detail view of JoomGallery but a modified one. Presumably, the override was taken over by the old side during the migration and now causes this error.
Generally, you should remove the overrides after a Migration or rebuild based on the current JoomGallery template files.

Troubleshooting on firetruckworld.com:
There is a Javascript conflict with the menu module "Maximenu CK". If you deactivate the option "Use fancy effect" in the module settings, the javascript error will no longer occur.

Hi,

there are Javascript errors on both sides. That's probably why the Motiongallery is not loaded properly.
Are all other extensions up-to-date and suitable for Joomla! 3.9?
In order to limit the errors, you should activate the protostar template as a test and disable other extensions such as the menu modules.

did you set this settings in Configuration Manager to 'No':
Category View >> General Settings >> Show Comments
and
Category View >> General Settings >> Show Ratings

12  JoomGallery 3.x JUX / Backend / Administration / Re: How to Losslessly Compress Images for PageSpeed on: 07-12-2018 12:59:23
Hi,

to 2:
That should work already. If you use GD2 as image processor, you should use
Code:
imageinterlace($dst_img, true);
the thumbnail and the detail image are stored interlaced.

to 3:
Tools like jpegtran or jpegoptim are external libraries that are not installed on most servers. I myself do not know any possibility to integrate external tools like jpegtran or jpegoptim.
Which is of course always possible: download the images, edit them with the respective tool and then upload again.

to 1. and "is there any way to "losslessly compress" the images using GD, GD2, or ImageMagick?"
JPEG is inherently a lossy format. Compression with this image tools normally installed on the servers, such as GD2 and imagemagick, always results in quality losses.

Great, if it works again now. Smile
But I would only have been interested in how the problem arose.  Rolleyes
14  JoomGallery 3.x JUX / Frontend / Re: Impossible to show category when category id is greater than 100 on: 23-11-2018 19:43:45
Hi,

I think the category does not contain images that are public visible.
Check this:
Category:
- published ?
- Access level ?
Images:
- published and approved ?
- access level ?
- not hidden ?
Check in the 'Image Manager' if the right category really contains images.
15  JoomGallery 3.x JUX / Frontend / Re: Impossible to show category when category id is greater than 100 on: 20-11-2018 13:00:32
Hi,

I have a website with over 150 categories and there is no problem with inserting a category into a article.  Rolleyes

I assume you create the link to the category with the button "JoomImage" and then choose "Insert Category"?
Can you post the code that appears in the article, it should be something like that
{joomplucat:104 limit=12|columns=3}

Have you already done a check with the 'Maintenance Manager' of JoomGallery? Are errors displayed here?
