31  JoomGallery 3.0 JUX - Extensions / Modules / Re: SEO - JoomCat Image Dimensions on: 07-12-2018 13:03:27
Hi,

...I hope this helps someone or gets added to the core.
the best would be if you submit the proposal to Github: https://github.com/JoomGallery/JoomCategories
32  JoomGallery 3.x JUX / Backend / Administration / Re: How to Losslessly Compress Images for PageSpeed on: 07-12-2018 12:59:23
Hi,

to 2:
That should work already. If you use GD2 as image processor, you should use
Code:
imageinterlace($dst_img, true);
the thumbnail and the detail image are stored interlaced.

to 3:
Tools like jpegtran or jpegoptim are external libraries that are not installed on most servers. I myself do not know any possibility to integrate external tools like jpegtran or jpegoptim.
Which is of course always possible: download the images, edit them with the respective tool and then upload again.

to 1. and "is there any way to "losslessly compress" the images using GD, GD2, or ImageMagick?"
JPEG is inherently a lossy format. Compression with this image tools normally installed on the servers, such as GD2 and imagemagick, always results in quality losses.

Great, if it works again now. Smile
But I would only have been interested in how the problem arose.  Rolleyes

Hi,

I think the category does not contain images that are public visible.
Check this:
Category:
- published ?
- Access level ?
Images:
- published and approved ?
- access level ?
- not hidden ?
Check in the 'Image Manager' if the right category really contains images.

Hi,

I have a website with over 150 categories and there is no problem with inserting a category into a article.  Rolleyes

I assume you create the link to the category with the button "JoomImage" and then choose "Insert Category"?
Can you post the code that appears in the article, it should be something like that
{joomplucat:104 limit=12|columns=3}

Have you already done a check with the 'Maintenance Manager' of JoomGallery? Are errors displayed here?
36  JoomGallery 3.x JUX / Frontend / Re: JoomSearch on: 16-11-2018 14:20:32
Hi,

is the search plugin 'JoomSearch' installed and activated?
It is needed for the search module. See here and here.
37  JoomGallery 3.x JUX / Backend / Administration / Re: JoomGallery meta tags on: 12-11-2018 12:32:10
See screenshot with example meta tags from demoshop:

At your site there are very many meta keywords. I do not know if a search engine takes into account so many keywords?
38  JoomGallery 3.x JUX / Backend / Administration / Re: JoomGallery meta tags on: 09-11-2018 15:10:31
...I attempted to check what you were explaining in point #2, but when I click your demo-shop link all I get is:
This page isn’t working mrmusic63.de didn’t send any data.
ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE
It works fine for me.  Rolleyes
Can you try it again on another pc or another browser?
39  JoomGallery 3.x JUX / Backend / Administration / Re: JoomGallery meta tags on: 07-11-2018 20:53:40
Even if you have not posted a link to the page: If it comes to the page http://www.hcdbonline.com, there I see two problems:

1. In the root of this page there is a "robots.txt" with the following entry:
Disallow: /images/

With this entry the search engines are "forbidden" to search in the directory /images
But under this directory are all the images of the JoomGallery.
Maybe it should help to delete the "Disallow: /images/" from the robots.txt.

2. You are not using the "Detail view" of JoomGallery, only the category view.
The meta-data you deposit with the respective image, but are only written in the "Detail view" of JoomGallery in the "head" of the page.
In the currently used category view, the category meta-data is written in the "head" of the page.

If you compare the source code of your page with the demo-shop page (link in my signature), you would have to see the differences.
40  JoomGallery 3.x JUX / Backend / Administration / Re: JoomGallery meta tags on: 06-11-2018 15:17:11
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} /component/|(/[^.]*|\.(php|html?|feed|pdf|vcf|raw))$ [NC][/i]
These line does not exist in actual Joomla! .htaccess file.
Therefore it is not necessary to change anything in the .htaccess to use JoomGallery SEF URLs.
41  JoomGallery 3.x JUX / Backend / Administration / Re: Can't change category on: 18-10-2018 11:16:49
If you want to move a category, its folders (thumbnails/details/originals) will also be moved.
If the folders do not exist, then this problem occurs.
42  JoomGallery 3.x JUX / Frontend / Re: Is what I'm trying to do possible? on: 18-10-2018 11:13:49
...Should I make them a PAGE rather than a MODULE?
Without a link to the site i can not understand what you mean.  Rolleyes
Probably a (superfluous) module is displayed?
I think it would be better if you ask in a Joomla! forum?
43  JoomGallery 3.x JUX / Backend / Administration / Re: JoomGallery meta tags on: 15-10-2018 10:15:53
Yes that's right, these lines existed in earlier Joomla! versions.
In the newer Joomla! versions, these lines are no longer necessary.
44  JoomGallery 3.x JUX / Backend / Administration / Re: Can't change category on: 15-10-2018 10:14:05
Yes, you can not delete the detail pictures or folders  Shocked
To save space you can only delete the original images!

Can you restore the detail images and folders from a backup?
45  JoomGallery 3.x JUX / Frontend / Re: Is what I'm trying to do possible? on: 15-10-2018 10:09:07
Hi,

the problem has nothing to do with JoomGallery.  Wink

But i think you need a single menu with the menu items 1. Home, 2. Most Viewed, 3. Most Commented
Then you have to create one menu module to display the menu, but not several modules for different menu items.
The output from the JoomGallery is done as a component, not in a module.
