Well, you dont. Unless you customize your search. I did this on my page where I replaced the default search of joomgallery with my own custom.

3  JoomGallery 3.x JUX / Uploads / Re: Joomla 3.5.1 - broken e-mail notifications. on: 21-04-2016 23:38:36
Ok, must an advice in case someone will encounter the same problem - the issue here is the Joomla Mailer, which will create problems if you use no e-mail encryption. They changed the mail component in such way, that it will attempt to switch to TLS or SSL if the mail server is capable to. In that case, your Joomla configuration might not be correct - in my case the port and host would differ for SSL comunication. So the mails would not go out. I suggest you wait to Joomla 3.5.2 before upgrading and hope that they will fix the e-mail bugs.
4  JoomGallery 3.x JUX / Uploads / Joomla 3.5.1 - broken e-mail notifications. on: 21-04-2016 22:01:17
Perhaps a bit premature, but I upgraded recently to Joomla 3.5.1 and php7. It went all well, except that Joomgallery now crashes when sending e-mail notifications. I tracked it to messenger.php where we call on line 457, after calling this line it crashes. JFactory Getmailer returns input correctly as far as I can tell and from there it just crashes. All parameters passed seem to be corect. I do not get any error displayed:

 if(JFactory::getMailer()->sendMail($from, $fromname, null, $this->_subject,  $this->_text, false, null, $recipients) !== true)
      return false;

Anyone can confirm this is an issue with Joomla 3.5.1 or can help me figuring out whats happening? For now i just simply hat do disable messaging after upload.
5  JoomGallery 3.x JUX / Interaction with other components / Jotcache and joomgallery on: 18-04-2016 15:19:54
Hello folks. I have been trying to get my site to run faster recently and I found out that there seem to be issues with Joomgallery and Jotcache. Jotcache as such is a bit tricky to be used with Joomgallery due to the fact that hits on your images are not counted if you use a cache. In my case I have therefore disabled Jotcache for Joomgallery component. This however means, that many items will simply not be cached and will take away more resources from the server. I however have images from Joomgallery in content, so it would be great if these could be loaded from memcache. So I tried to exclude views Category and detail which means that View=Image should be cached. However, once I do this, the images simply stop beeing displayed.

Does anyone know why this is the case and if there is any way how I could fix this?
6  JoomGallery 3.x JUX / Backend / Administration / Show vote details in admin on: 22-02-2016 21:52:02
In administration we currently do not have an insight into what the users are voting for. In individual image administration we can only reset votes, but we can not see who voted for the image and can not delete individual user votes.

Such functionality to administrate votes would be good as I see many trolls just giving bad votes to certain images / users. It would be also great to block individual user from giving further votes - e.g. for a certain amount of time or completely.

Obviously this would only work if votes would be allowed to registered users only
7  JoomGallery 3.x JUX / Frontend / Image quality after applying watermark on: 18-01-2016 22:38:57
I have been recently looking into an issue with images when watermark is beeing added to the file and noticed that the detail image has been signifficantly lackng quality. Upon investigation I found out that the detail image which was about 600kb was shrunk to about 175kb when the watermark was added.

Digging deeper I found out that the issue is in the default GD2 quality setting which is 75%. So once you enable watermark for your detail images, it will lower the quality of the displayed image. In order to fix this, It needs to be added into /components/com_joomgallery/models/image.php into function includeWatermark at line 355 add imagejpeg($src_img, NULL, 100);

This will tell GD2 to set quality to 100%, so your image will not loose quality after watermark is included for detail view
8  JoomGallery 3.0 JUX - Extensions / Plugins / Re: Joombu/Joomplu - set Intro/Full article image on: 16-01-2016 20:14:15
Ok, done, have a look, posted into comments what would be a better way to do it - the way I have implemented it is not clean. It works, but its definetly not clean
9  JoomGallery 3.0 JUX - Extensions / Plugins / Re: Joombu/Joomplu - set Intro/Full article image on: 15-01-2016 11:00:58
Ok, so found the solution. The main issue was the Javascript which was in function insertJoomPluWithId calling window.parent.jInsertEditorText(tag, editor); . This means whatever e_name is beeing sent in the parameter as editor, it will always place the image into the WYSIWYG editor.

I created a second function in the js file which is calling window.parent.document.getElementById(editor).value = tag;  . In this case if I pass e_name jform_images_image_intro in the e_name, it will actually put it into the field .

Additional modification was in the default_minis.php file, where I needed to place an IF , which based on the supplied e_name will either call the first method or my custom function.

Last not least I had to modify the admin template to display the joombu just below the intro and fulltext field. I know this is not the cleanest way, but for what I need to do its actually more than OK.

So now I can very simply use images from the gallery as intro/fulltext images

10  JoomGallery 3.0 JUX - Extensions / Plugins / Joombu/Joomplu - set Intro/Full article image on: 12-01-2016 19:53:37
Howdy. I am trying to modify Joombu/Joomplu in such a way that I want to add a new tab, which will allow me to select an image and that would automatically use the image as article Intro and Full image. The Idea is as follows:

-> I will search for an image using Joombu
-> Once I click on the image, the image Thumbnail will be used as Intro image
-> The Detail image will be used as full article image
-> The alt text/caption would be pre filled with either imgtitle or description

Now, I got down to 2 files which I am trying to modify - com_joomgallery/views/mini/tmpl/default_minis.php and /media/joomgallery/js/mini.js

There are 2 things which would need to be done. Create a new function in the js file which would return the img_src. The other issue is to populate the right field - in this case I would need this to go to jform_images_image_intro and jform_images_image_fulltext respectively.

The issue is, whatever I try, the link is beeing inserted into jform_articletext. anyone able to help me getting this acomplished? I think this could be a good feature for the future too
11  JoomGallery 3.x JUX / Interaction with other components / Komento integration with Joomgallery on: 14-10-2015 14:00:44
Howdy folks. Perhaps some of you have already thought of integrating Komento as the default commenting component with Joomgallery. Komento does make it reasonably easy to integrate with a plugin system which is fairly easily adaptable, so even a noob like me has managed to get it going. I am attaching the commento plugin, which should be actually usable with your instance of joomgallery, as it does not really ask for anything I have customized on my page. Attached is the plugin file, perhaps some more skilled developer can review it and clean it up a bit.

You can call the plugin in your code with:

require_once( JPATH_ROOT . DIRECTORY_SEPARATOR . 'components' . DIRECTORY_SEPARATOR . 'com_komento' . DIRECTORY_SEPARATOR . 'bootstrap.php' );
Komento::commentify( 'com_joomgallery', $article );

I have this on my image detail page and am additionally passing $article with following info

$article = array('id' => $this->image->id,
'title' => $this->image->imgtitle,
'hits' => $this->image->hits,
'created_by' => $this->image->owner,
'catid' => $this->image->catid,
'link' => JURI::current(),
'introtext' => $this->image->imgtext,
'text' => $this->image->imgtext,
'fulltext' => $this->image->imgtext

12  JoomGallery 3.x JUX / Frontend / Re: Detailed search page on: 12-09-2015 12:57:45
So, finally had time to look up into this matter and see how this can be done - after all, this is a program and everything should be possible to code.

For my initial request, I went ahead and changed the way the standard search is working in the header.. The single inputbox was replaced by a form which is sending multiple parameters to be searched so right now I can have a combination of multiple fields. Fields which are not filled are excluded from the search, so the code only searches for a single parameter or a combination of the populated fields. The good thing is that its now really working 100% correct and the user will not get wrong result in his search.

Go ahead and test (put it into an accordion in page header)
13  JoomGallery 3.x JUX / Uploads / Re: Create custom upload forms on: 02-04-2015 17:52:12
Sure its possible to change the upload form.  Attached is mine - you can add custom fields, dropdown lists etc. You need however also to modify the joomgallery table so that the additional fields will get stored alongside. Then you need to modify the detail page so that the fields get displayed as needed.
14  JoomGallery 3.0 JUX - Extensions / Plugins / Joombu pagination not working on: 30-01-2015 22:25:31
Hello, I have one strange issue with Joomplu / Joombu. When I attempt to add an image into an article, I am not able to browse the images. I attached a screenshot - basically - I get the pagination, but its not doing anything. Irrespective of what page I select, I am still getting the same images displayed. Also, for whatever reason the images in the popup are sorted strictly by image title and not as per category setting, which is set to display most recent images first.

You will also notice that the plugin states - They were 2 images found - however the pagination as well as the number of thumbnails clearly shows that more images were found.

Is this a know issue and if yes, has anyone found a fix for that? Would save me some time debugging but if noone experienced this before, I will dig it myself
15  JoomGallery 3.x JUX / Frontend / og tags in social plugins wrong on: 25-01-2015 19:04:14
I recently installed the Facebook like, Twitter and Google buttons for Joomgallery. I have found out that there are a few issues with them.

First of all - the og:image tag is for whatever reason taking the image thumbnail and not the image itself as the tag. This means, that when you share the detail view, you will not get the nice preview. In ideal circumstances, the image in the og:image tag should be at least 600 pixels wide, which usually is not the case with thumbnails. Therefore the image details is the preffered option. I am generating the og:image as follows (works well with facebook)

$link = (string) $this->image->img_src;
$doc->addCustomTag( '<meta property="og:image" content="' . $link . '"/>');

The second issue is found in the Google plus plugin - that one is set to also generate og tags. This creates issues as Facebook is expecting each property only once. So if you use both Facebook like and Google+ button, you will get each property twice. The og tags should be imho removed from the Google+ plugin
