Hi,

I have a new install of Joomla Version 1.5.14 and JoomGallery 1.5.0.3, and for some reason it does create the category, but ignores the Parent Category specified.

It creates a category in the root, but not under the Parent I have specified.

Initially I thought it may be because it was a 2 word (Member Galleries), so I changed it to a single word (Members), but it still does it.

Any thoughts?

Victor

Hi,

you have to enter the ID of the parent category, not its name. It should work then.

Just in case make sure under User Access Rights you have the directory enabled under Allowed Category and Allowed for Usercategories.

Hi,

that should not be necessary for the plugin, just for the userpanel of the gallery.

Well that did the trick. Thanks for your quick response. Great support & a great component!

Any chance that that can be changed to a drop-down at some point?

BTW, I did notice another issue that may be of interest to you:

When the "Check on every login?" option is checked the checking is case-sensitive. As a result if a user with upper case letters(e.g. ChrisJ) signs in without exactly the same format (e.g. Chrisj) it will create a new category.

You might want to make it case insensitive, because I think usernames are, or can be.

Thanks again!

Hi,

thank you very much for this information. I thought that the usernames were always case sensitive, but I will check that.

Hi,

I have the same problem then Vabiro. How I can enter ID of the parent category? On the User Access Rights I may enter only name of the parent directory.
(Joomla 1.5.22, JoomGallery 1.5.7.4)

Hi,

you have to enter the category ID at the settings of the plugin JoomAutoCat in plugin manager of Joomla.
