Hello,
is ther a way to hide the firts level of the Treeview ?

I have a category "spots" with subcategories, so now it shows :

Spots
--> cat 1
--> cat 2
--> cat 3

I would like to have directly :

cat 1
cat 2
cat 3

Hoping for answers,
Best regards,

Thanks for the answer,

So I should do it with the "latest categories module" ?

Can't find the same code in the "TreeView module"... ?

Best regards

Hi,

sorry. I must have been a little bit confused Smilewinkgrin .

The Treeview module provides a parameter to determine the root of the treeview (root category), which can be a any category resp. subcategory.

But showing only a list of categories of a category is not possible with this module. It must have a root category and it will always show it.

Maybe you could create a menu with external links to your categories. This would exactly look like you want.

OK,

Thanks for your answer...

I know I can edit the links manually with a joomla menu, but the website is for my brother, a photographer, and I want him to update his website himself, so I want it to be as simple as possible.

If I could find the trick with the TreeView module, he would only have to create his galleries and upload his pictures. So no need to show him how to create menus and edit links...

Still hoping someone will have an answer,
Best regards,

I also was unable to make direct menu of categories and I decided to make Joomla menu for categories as external links, but I can't make them active when pushed.

Do you know how to do it?

Hello,

I still don't have the solution for my problem...

But If you're good with a joomla menu and external links,
and if your only problem is to have the links not actice when pushed,
I think it should work by adding the menu Itemid in your external link...

I haven't tested it but I think it should work.
