Hi there,

I have changed host and have now Image Magick available on the server. Thus apart from adjusting the latest version of joomgallery I am also testing what Image Magick is doing with my animated gifs.

What I would expect is that both the thumbs and images show an animation corresponding to what I can see when viewing the gifs on my desktop.

specs:
test session with J1.5.15 , JoomGallery 1.5.04
submitted 15 animated gifs with number of frames ranging from 2 to 11

config - general settings - image processing
image processor: IM
It seems ImageMagick is installed and should work correctly
The path has been detected automatically... Version: ImageMagick 6.3.7 08/09/09 Q16
resizing: yes
Max Width and Height: 700
Quality: 100
Thumbnail Conversion: by height
Thumbnail Width: 240
Thumbnail Height: 200
Thumbnail Quality: 100

All gifs have been created with Adobe Photoshop CS2 in exactly the same fashion.

The browsers I use for testing are IE7, FF3, Opera10, Safari4 and Chrome4 (latest builds)

The problem is that of the 15 gifs submitted

- only 5 work properly in all 5 browsers,
- another 6 work fine in FF3, Opera, Safari and Chrome but either don’t show any animation at all in IE7 or only show the animation in the large image display.
- 1 is being displayed messed up in all browsers
- 1 is being displayed messed up in all but IE7 whereas IE7 skips a frame
- 2 are being displayed messed up in all but IE7 with the animation not working at all in IE7

could somebody please help me figure how to fix that?

And does it work for you now?

http://www.imagemagick.org/Usage/basics/#why
Headline: Legacy Command Line Style

Due to the fact that a lot of IM scripts out there use a command with a single image operator of the form...
    command  -operator  input_image   output_image

That is you specified an image operator before you actually read the image to which the operator will be applied.
To handle this legacy situation, IM will save up all the image operators it sees, and apply them to the first image when it is finally seen on the command line. That is the above will work as if you wrote the wrote...

    command  input_image   -operator  output_image
ff.

Sure, it's deprecated and will not work in IM 7, maybe.
The latest release of ImageMagick is version 6.6.0-10.

Could you give me a direct contact to this tech?

I understand in turn that you are more interested in proofing yourself right about whatever instead of acknowledging the necessity to adjust the IM command line.

never mind

I have removed the fix from my posts...

Especially with JoomGallery settings of ImageMagick in the word attachment, which are not true?
