Hi,

I changed my JoomGallery settings so now when I click a photo on a specific category, it will open the photo in a slimbox instead of opening the detail page for that photo (this saves clicks for the users). However now the categories and photos stopped counting hits.

Is there a way to fix this or the only way to count hits is if the photo is open on the detail page?

On a side issue, I want the users to open the photos on their original size on the slimbox, but don't want them to be able to download it (or they should download the detail photo instead). Is this possible?

Also, I'm using Joomla 1.5.24 and JoomGallery 1.5.7.4.

If you need the link for the site let me know and I'll PM it.

Hi,

please see this thread.

You enabled the option 'Use real paths' of the configuration manager.

As written there the hit counter won't work in some situations (especially when not using default detail view) if this option is enabled.
Please read that description carefully.

For some reason, the description wasn't showing anything. Seems my language pack was corrupted as many of my options were not visible and showed the tag instead. I re-installed the language and now read the description. Seems I need to disable that option for hits to work. Thanks.

Language files have to be always updated after updating the component. You can do that by clicking on the correspondent flag at 'Help and Information' in the backend of the gallery.

Yes, one of the main reasons for implementing the image output through the script was the one that counting the hits is possible trustworthy. So disabling the option 'Use real paths' is necessary for correct counting if the default detail view isn't used.

I used the auto update function, so it should have updated the language automatically as well. But it's fine now. :)

Auto Updating the gallery will only update the gallery itself.

All extensions (as well as the language files) have also to be updated separately.
For JoomGallery extensions this is also possible via the auto update. Language files can be auto updated by clicking on the flag at 'Help and Information' (if the cURL extension is loaded on the server).

Well, that seems a bit odd. You should post that information on the auto update function.

But thanks for the help! :)
