Now I have a new problem. I have been working a lot on my JoomGallery but suddenly I can't view the Gallery at all and I am getting this message:
This web page has a redirect loop
The web page at http://localhost/index.php/adoptions has resulted in too many redirects. Clearing your cookies for this site or allowing third-party cookies may fix the problem. If not, it is possibly a server configuration issue and not a problem with your computer.

I have deleted cookies, tried another browser, leaving it for an hour all to no avail. It is only this page with JoomGallery in it that has the problem.
Any ideas please. This seems to be a bit unstable to me and is a bit of a worry if this is going to happen to my site visitors when I go live!

Hi,

please disable SEF and check whether it works then.

In which way did you create the menu item for JoomGallery?
Are there more than one?

I have disabled SEF but it makes no difference, I still get the same Message
I created the Menu item by going into Menu Manager Clicking the Menu Items Tab and hitting the New button. I have o say that this gallery worked for a day or so but suddenly went wrong!

Hi,

does the redirect loop start immediately after clicking on the menu item of the gallery?

What does the URL look like?

It starts immediately, well when I click on the menu item the arrow circle whirls for a second or so then the message comes up. This is in Chrome, when I use IE I don't get the message but the green progress bar just keeps going back and forth and the browser window "flashes"
Here's a screenshot of the page showing the URL (It's my local server)

Hi,

thanks, please delete the menu item and recreate it.

Could you please post the URL of that menu item (with disabled SEF) after that?

So is this a online website? If it's public, providing a url to it is always helpful (you linked to a local one which we cannot see)

Hi Josh
It's my local server as I said in my post above. I can put it up to my test host if you think that would help!

I have deleted the Menu item and recreated it and that seems to have got rid of the error message. i can now see the Gallery. All the permissions are set to "Public" but when i click a thumbnail I get the message "Guests are not allowed to view details. Please log in" Need to change a permission to public somewhere but they all seem to be on Public now!
If I log in I can open the next window but this goes to the screenshow. Then i can't get back to the thumbnail view that I need! Is this where I need to change the Choice of "View" when I create the Menu Item?

Hi,

yes, you can select the view while creating the menu item for JoomGallery. There are several to choose from.

If you want to change the target of the links on the thumbnails you have to edit the option 'Entering Detail View' in tab 'Category View' -> 'General Settings' of the configuration manager.

If you want to show the detail image also to unregistered users you have to enable option 'Show Detail Page' in tab 'Detail View' -> 'General Settings'.

That's solved all the problems in one go. Thank You!
All I have to do now is to catalogue all these guidance notes for the future as there is no way I am going to remember them all.
Thanks Again
