I originally built my Joomla site in a temporary account on a hosting server that uses virtual hostnames. Everything worked perfectly there.

After it was completed, I worked with the site admin to migrate the entire install over to a new account with its own specific directory tree. We also had to copy the MySql database over to the new account as well. Everything is working fine....EXCEPT JoomGallery.

I'm running into strange behavior when I try to create a new category and upload photos to it. I checked all the paths and permissions and everything is ok but here's what happens:

I create a new category and receive the following screen:

It creates fine as you can see:

However when I try to upload any photos, here's what happens (same results if I use BATCH UPLOAD and try a zip file):

Here's what the error is (probably hard to read in the image)

Position: 1
Filename: 2011FallTour01.jpg
Error uploading file '/var/www/vhosts/mthoodcorvettes.com/httpdocs/images/joomgallery/originals/2011_fall_tour_104/2011_fall_tour_1_20111031_1595008888.jpg'

In that last image, I only tried loading one file.

I don't get it. I have checked EVERYTHING I can think of

Hi,

different things could have happened while moving the site.

Maybe there are permission problems.

Please check the permissions of the image directories of the gallery via FTP.
Additionally, please check whether they are marked as available in the configuration manager of JoomGallery.

Yes to both. Permissions should allow it and the JoomGallery Config Manager show's they're writeable as well.

Now you see why I'm confused!  Shocked

Hi,

unfortunately, I don't have another idea.
So you should uninstall the gallery and reinstall it after that.

Since it's still a BETA version this could be necessary anyway later on.

RESOLVED!!

Turned out that the new installation was a victim of Apache's safe mode (it was on).

Everything is now good. Thanks for the assist!
