Hello there!

I'm new on forum so I greet you all btw 

I have installed JoomGallery (mod_joomCat) to display random images on the frontpage of site...well its ok.
I have set the categories root id to "0" and it's all fine. Also i have set my Thumbnails to Manual, like the JoomGallery (in galleries work perfect), but in mod_joomcat the thumbnails is Random, although i have set it to Manual.

What can i do to fix this problem?

Hi zagzter,

thanks for this hint. Did you select category thumbnails from outside the category itself?
This is now possible in the new JoomGallery version but the module was not able to cope with that yet.

Please try the new module version available here.

im actually working on Joomla 1.5.25, so i cant install that module you send me. I search for 1.5.25 but there is only the JoomlaGategories v. 1.5.7.1 ...what can i do?

Sorry, your fault . This board is titled JoomGallery 2.x ACL - Extensions.

I can not confirm the desribed bevaviour for the module JoomCategories 1.5.7.1, with one exception. If you did not select a category thumbnail for a category in JoomGallery's category manager the module will display a random thumbnail out of that category even if 'Manual setting' is selected.

yes, sorry for that is my fault...

i have select custom thumbnails in JoomGallery and it works perfect in Categories. But in "random images" JoomGategories module doesnt work

Sorry, but on my local installation the module works correctly.

Do you use images marked as 'hidden' for you category thumbnails? If yes, you have to enable the module option 'Show hidden categories/images' as well.

If this is not the case please post a link to your site showing the problem as well as a complete screenshot of your module settings.

i have unable show hidden categories/images but doesnt work again. the thumbnails that i want is hidden...

look http://www.kilkisnightout.gr  (in frontpage i have random categories....in menu "Whats on kilkis" "whats on paionia" i have the categories...)

I'm not sure if I understand you correctly.

So once again:
If you use hidden images for your manual category thumbnails you have to enable the module option 'Show hidden categories/images'.
Furthermore these hidden images have to be published and approved (please check that in image manager, it seems to me that this is not the case).
The 'Thumbnail display mode' 'Manual setting' should work than!

ok i have publish the hidden images that i want to have as Thumbnails and it works!!!!But those images are Logotypes from some stores and i dont want to show in there album

If you don't want the thumbnails to be displayed in the category view you must set the 'Hidden' option for that image.
You will find that option in 'Image Manager :: Edit Image' on the right hand side if you open the 'Parameters' slider.

yes but if i hidde theme, then they dont show it on Random Categories! that is the problem!

Sorry, but I'm not able to reproduce your problem in my test installation.

If you want me to have a look at your settings please send me some login data (must be a Super Administrator acount) via PM (not here in the thread!).
Please ensure to have a recent backup before.
