Joomla 1.5.14
Joomgallery 1.5.0.3

Before the installation the script everything functions. After the installation this announcement comes by the call of the migration manager:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /home/www/xyz/html/administrator/components/com_joomgallery/adminclasses/admin.migrategallery2.class.php on line 64

What can I do? What do I make wrong?

Update: after mailing with miss_kagura we tried to get the migration to run but after fixing some small glitches in the migration script, she figured out that the G2 database was messed up and full of unused records making migration impossible and unwanted. On the bright side: a few bugs have been worked out making version 0.9.3 available to the world! See the top posting.

Im Having the same problem than miss_kagura my gallery2 its 2.3 and my clean install of JoomGallery its 1.5.0.4 its there any way to clear the g2 database, I really need to maintain my albums and photos, i dont mind to lose some data on the migration, I have 18283 Items and 297 Albums on gallery2

Migration script output:

Menalto Gallery 2.x to JoomGallery 1.5 migration script
version 0.9.3
Written by Berend Dekens

Probe results:

    * Found 297 albums and/or sub-albums
    * Found 16282 photos
    * Found 0 comments
    * Found roughly 703.8 MB worth of photos
      Sanity error: the number of albums and photos does not match the result set which has 16458 records

The current version extracts album and photo information (and paths) and creates the album structure, then it copies the photos and saves the view counters as well. After the photos, the comments are migrated and linked to the photos.

Thank you for this great script, works fine for me  Grin

Just one question, could you please think about migrating category descriptions as well…?

I have a fresh install of joomgallery 1.5.5.2 and the migration utility Joom_MigrationFromGallery2_0.9.3_beta on Joomla 1.5.20.

After installing JoomGallery the cpanel works fine i.e., I can view the Category Manager, Configuration Manager, etc.
After installing the Migration Utility all of the cpanel links do not work i.e., clicking on one of them results in the cpanel page refreshing.

Greetings, Mr. Wizard.  Grin

I've just deployed a Joomla 1.7 site, and am looking to break away from my JFusion / G2 setup, and move to JoomGallery.  Seeing as how JoomGallery 1.5 won't work under Joomla 1.7, I'd need to install JoomGallery 2.0 Beta, and migrate to it.

Is there any chance the script can be updated for JoomGallery 2.0?  I'd be glad to be a guinea pig / beta tester for you.

Thank you VERY much for your help!

I should note I'm running into the same issue mangkook and JayW are with the G2 => JG 1.5 script.  I was trying to migrate from G2 to JG 1.5.7.4 to JG 2.0b4, but the migration script for G2 to JG 1.5 seems to break JoomGallery under the current versions.  I'm seeing the same symptoms the other two folks are.

As some have found out

THIS SCRIPT DOES NOT WORK WITH JOOMGALLERY 1.5.7

Installing this script will rewrite the admin paths to your components options. This can be fixed by editing the jos_components table and editing every joomgallery entry that states "act=..." to "controller=...." if you compare the xml file from the original install to the one in the migration script you will see the entries that need altering.

Even if you do this the script will still not work as the migration structure must have changed.

Just a warning!
