Hi,
I failed the upgrading from 1.5 to 2.5. BTW I still have the old site 1.5 and the MySQL tables.
How can I move them to meet 2.0's JoomGallery specifications? Is there any other (easy pls! :)) method to do that? Is the upgrade still valid to do that?
Thx

Hi,

moving is necessary only if you are using another database for Joomla! 1.5 than for Joomla! 2.5.

You can move the tables of JoomGallery by doing an export via PhpMyAdmin in the old database and then doing an import with that via PhpMyAdmin in the new database.

Are you using different database table prefixes in the two databases?
If not you will have to change the prefix of the JoomGallery tables after exporting and before importing.

I exported all the joomgallery tables from 1.5 and imported them through phpmyadmin and the import was fine, no problems. But then when I attempt to install Joomgallery 2, I get these errors:

        JInstaller: :Install: Error SQL DB function failed with error number 1136
        Column count doesn't match value count at row 1 SQL=INSERT INTO `jos_joomgallery_catg` VALUES ('1', '0', 'ROOT', 'root', '0', '0', '0', '0', NULL, '0', '1', '1', '0', '0', '0', NULL, '0', '', '', '', '');
        SQL =

        INSERT INTO `#__joomgallery_catg` VALUES ('1', '0', 'ROOT', 'root', '0', '0', '0', '0', NULL, '0', '1', '1', '0', '0', '0', NULL, '0', '', '', '', '');

        Component Install: SQL error file DB function failed with error number 1136
        Column count doesn't match value count at row 1 SQL=INSERT INTO `jos_joomgallery_catg` VALUES ('1', '0', 'ROOT', 'root', '0', '0', '0', '0', NULL, '0', '1', '1', '0', '0', '0', NULL, '0', '', '', '', '');
        SQL =

        INSERT INTO `#__joomgallery_catg` VALUES ('1', '0', 'ROOT', 'root', '0', '0', '0', '0', NULL, '0', '1', '1', '0', '0', '0', NULL, '0', '', '', '', '');

Bottom line is that images and settings carry over but categories do not.  There seems to be an issue with there being no "root" category in 2.0

This is the same issue I am having. Everything transfers except categories, which is kind of critical for the whole thing.

Hi,

it's not possible to just move the database tables and use the new version of JoomGallery. Please install the migration script in order to migrate your old gallery to the new one.
