Hi,

In our (Test) Joomla Installation (2.5.4) with JoomGallery (2.0.0) we have the following Problem:

The "Upload"-button in the Userpanel leads to a Server Error 500, if SEO-Urls are activated in Joomla. (sef = 1 in configuration.php, sef_rewrite = 0, sef_suffix = 0 )

Here is what the upload button links to without sef:

http://steinkern.de/steinkern2/index.php?view=upload&option=com_joomgallery&Itemid=501

This works.

Here is what the upload button links to with sef enabled:

http://steinkern.de/steinkern2/index.php/steinkern-de-galerie/upload

This does not work ( Internal Server Error 500).

So far all other links / functions in Joomla and JoomGallery do work with SEO-Enabled. (this includes JoomGallery-uploads from the administration interface!)

I would like to run the installation with SEO Enabled - the upload Button so far is the only problem. - Right now SEO is enabled.

If anyone wants to look at the site: http://steinkern.de/steinkern2

Any tips would be greatly appreciated as this is the last problem we need to solve before going 'live' with the site.

Greetings from Ulm,
JP

Hi,

Internal Server Errors are output by the server, not by the PHP script.

On other sites this works good with SEO.

Can you please ask your hoster what exactly is the cause of this error?

Hi,

We found the problem.
It is indeed not a JoomlaGallery Bug.

What caused this?
We had (migrated by hand into the joomgallery Database) a category named "upload".
That's not a problem without url rewrite, but with url rewrite the generated url for a category named "upload" and the function "upload" are the same.

Now the category names are parsed out of the urls first, so the system wanted to display the category instead of the upload function - and the category was not published which cause the server 500 error.

Thanks,
JP

Jee, could you explain a workaround for this problem? If you know any.

I love JoomGallery and its features, but I want to be able to have both SEO and frontend uploads.
