Hello,

It's been some time since I had used JoomGallery on my site. I had been using it successfully in the past, for the purposes of running Photoshop contests.

Yesterday I downloaded and installed the latest version for Joomla 3.
I set up a sample category. When I am trying to upload a test image from the front end, I am getting this error:
0 - Invalid controller: name='upload', format=''

I am wondering what am I doing wrong. I checked the backend settings again and again.

Thanks

Hi,

there seem to be some files missing.

Could you please install the JoomGallery archive again over the existing installation?

Hello Chraneco

Thank you for your prompt reply.
I re-installed the latest version (3.2.1) of the component on top of the existing installation. But the issue persists.
I first re-installed the zip version; then the tar.gz version. None of them fixed the issue.

Thanks

Hi,

okay, that's strange. Is there a file called 'upload.php' in folder 'components/com_joomgallery/controllers/'?
If yes, what are the contents?

Hi,

okay, that looks good. Then, there must be something wrong with the links.

What does the address in the browser address bar look like while the error message is displayed?

Also, does it work with disabled SEF?

Let me check please. I am using sh404SEF, which often causes all sorts of issues.

OK, here's what happened:

I turned OFF the "Enable URL optimization" option of sh404SEF (without turning off the native "Search Engine Friendly URLs" option in Global Configuration).
I tried to upload a test image: it worked fine this time.

Apparently there is an incompatibility issue between JoomGallery and sh404SEF.

By the way, the URL in the address bar, when the problem occurs is: http://www.domainname.com/?type=single

Hi,

yes, there is the part missing which specifies which component to load.

Are you using JoomGallery on your startpage?

No, I am not using Joomgallery on the home page.
I have added an "upload image" option on the main menu which I am using right now to test the issue.

I found something that might help you:

My site is bilingual (English - German). I am using Falang.
I read on the sh404SEF forums similar complaints about incompatibilities between JoomGallery and sh404SEF.
They seemed to be related to multilingual sites.

I turned off the "System - Language Filter" pluging and presto, the upload went on fine, with sh404SEF enabled.

Now I am more puzzled than ever!

Hi,

alright, we'll have to have a look at that.

It's the first time I hear about that incompatibility.
