I run a photography website. There are quite a few galleries with large jpegs containing useful exif data and keywords. The original images are not used for display, once uploaded. I need to save some space on the web host, but I get the nasty feeling that, if I delete the originals, I'll lose the exif/keyword functionality. Is this correct?
Also, will I cause any problems if I manually delete the existing originals using FTP? Obviously, I won't be able to recreate the smaller images.

Hi,

yes, you're right: If you delete the originals, all Exif and IPTC data are lost.
The original images are usually used to display in a Popup box. Otherwise, the JoomGallery works without any problems without the original images.
