Hey there! I'm hoping I can get some answers.
I'm noticing that my images are not searchable through any search engines. My understanding is they require meta tags.
With over 22,000 images do I really need to add meta tags to each image for them to be visible by search engines?
Is there some kind of plugin that could take the image file name and add it to the meta tags?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,

you can change the meta keywords and meta description with the "batch" function in JoomGallery image manager.
For 'better' URLs you can enable the 'SEF URLs for Images', see more information here.

After reading several times over - I think I understand.
Although, the lines I'm supposed to search in the .htaccess.txt and web.config.txt files to add the jpg extension; those lines don't seem to exist :/

Yes that's right, these lines existed in earlier Joomla! versions.
In the newer Joomla! versions, these lines are no longer necessary.

"You have to ensure that you are using the core SEF with having 'Use URL rewriting' and 'Adds Suffix to URL' enabled."
Done.

"Go to control panel of JoomGallery and click on the 'Options' button in the toolbar. In the 'SEO Settings' tab enable the SEF URLs for images."
Done.

Depending on whether you are using a '.htaccess' or a 'web.config' file in your Joomla! root director.htaccess
Search the following line in your '.htaccess' file

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} /component/|(/[^.]*|\.(php|html?|feed|pdf|vcf|raw))$ [NC]

The line I see is:
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/index\.php

Do I replace that line entirely? You said those lines are no longer necessary, so this step is irrelevant?

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} /component/|(/[^.]*|\.(php|html?|feed|pdf|vcf|raw))$ [NC][/i]
These line does not exist in actual Joomla! .htaccess file.
Therefore it is not necessary to change anything in the .htaccess to use JoomGallery SEF URLs.

Ok, just making sure. I set the Search Engine Friendly URLs, Use URL Rewriting and Add Suffix to URL all to YES. What should I expect now? Google seems to not index anything or excludes what I have in Joomgallery and I'm not sure why.

Even if you have not posted a link to the page: If it comes to the page http://www.hcdbonline.com, there I see two problems:

1. In the root of this page there is a "robots.txt" with the following entry:
Disallow: /images/

With this entry the search engines are "forbidden" to search in the directory /images
But under this directory are all the images of the JoomGallery.
Maybe it should help to delete the "Disallow: /images/" from the robots.txt.

2. You are not using the "Detail view" of JoomGallery, only the category view.
The meta-data you deposit with the respective image, but are only written in the "Detail view" of JoomGallery in the "head" of the page.
In the currently used category view, the category meta-data is written in the "head" of the page.

If you compare the source code of your page with the demo-shop page (link in my signature), you would have to see the differences.

Okay, I deleted the "Disallow: /image/" line for the txt file.

I attempted to check what you were explaining in point #2, but when I click your demo-shop link all I get is:

Okay, it's working now. Is there any specific line I should compare or look at?

See screenshot with example meta tags from demoshop:

At your site there are very many meta keywords. I do not know if a search engine takes into account so many keywords?
